Onward

I recently bought a new camera - my very first digital slr of my very own. It took me a long time to come around to digital, I tried to hold out with film for as long as I could. But I've come to a few conclusions since being out of school and away from the darkrooms and scanners and printers (not to mention student loans):
a) I don't photograph anymore - mainly because I can't afford the film/processing/scanning
and
b) If I ever plan on getting work I'm going to need to go digital

I already miss the anticipation and the thoughtfulness that goes into every frame when you use film, and the not knowing what you have and forgetting what you've taken until the film is processed, the clunky-ness and the loud heavy shutter, and let's face it - film cameras are gorgeous objects to have and hold and collect and take apart. Fear not - I am not retiring my cameras for good, there will always be a time and place. I'm just going to let them rest for a little longer.

And with all of that said, as I enter this new digital age I would like to try and do what many photographers have done before - some with great success and others who ditch the project after a week. I am going to try and post a picture or two or three everyday.
